What to expect
If your study doctor determines that you are eligible and you decide to participate, you will be enrolled into the study.
Once enrolled, you will be randomly assigned to receive either the study medicine at one of up to six dose levels, an active comparator medicine, or placebo (which has no active medicine in it). All are given as an injection under the skin.
Your participation is expected to last between 2 and 4 months, and will involve one to two overnight stays (lasting 3 to 4 nights), depending on which part of the study you participate in. All outpatient visits will occur every 1 to 7 days. Visits may include physical exams, lab tests and questionnaires to monitor your health and safety.
